Permanently deleting .zip files from an iMac

I have three .zip files, each of which has a cloud icon attached (see below). I put them into the bin and empty the bin. They disappear. A few seconds later, they return. I have tried control-right click and 'delete immediately' and the same thing happens. How can I remove them permanently? I have already tried starting up in safe mode and that didn't do the trick. Grateful for any suggestions!

Hi, try this...


Here's how to delete files from iCloud:

  1. Go to iCloud and sign in with your Apple ID. Open your iCloud Drive.
  2. Choose the files you want to remove and click the Delete icon in the iCloud Drive toolbar.
