Facebook is continually asking me to Sign in when I click on online games, why?

I have an iPad mini 4, it was on iOS 15.7, I just updated it yesterday to iOS 15.8, but it was doing this “sign in thing” in the days day before I updated the iOS.

I play The Sim’s Freeplay, June’s Journey and Home street. It is now continually asking me to sign in to Facebook for each game, at the beginning of the games, and I don’t know why, it never did before.

Is there some new disconnect between Facebook/Meta and these online games, is it my Facebook account, I’ve been in FB Jail and I’ve been shadowbanned in the past, but I’m not meant to have restrictions on me anymore, they ended, but I can’t see some FB pages… I don’t think it’s that. But I don’t know.

Is there some setting I need to click, or is my iPad on the way out? I can’t afford a new one, prices are too expensive for me. I took Facebook off and put it back on again, and it threw this image I attached up. I also allowed FB to track the Sims at least.

What happens when you click "Continue"?

I know that some games save your progress though Facebook. However, as I don't use Facebook, I can't tell you exactly how it works. This is something you will most likely need to resolve between the app developers and FB. I'd start with the app developers.

Nightmare has happened since writing this. There’s definitely something wrong somewhere, whether it’s with Apple iOS, Facebook or more importantly my Sims Freeplay game that I’ve been playing for years.

I downloaded the new Sims game update, which was released (my issues were happening prior to the update), and there was some error in the game where my characters had got stuck! And I couldn’t unstick them, no matter what… I knew the errors weren’t in the previous save. So I decided to take Sims Freeplay completely off of my iPad, but not before putting it on a Samsung tablet I have, where I tested if the save was okay. I have terribly slow internet, unfortunately, so this took ages to put the game on the Samsung. And then a while to download my saved game. But I did manage to put it on. I didn’t save it to Android… But in that short space of time, it auto saved! It auto saved my game, which isn’t totally a problem, but it auto saved! Which means that Facebook is freely able to communicate and auto save with the version of the game on the Samsung tablet! There’s no asking me to log in to the Facebook app! (Auto save isn’t working since the other day when this all happened on my iPad).

But now I can’t get the game to go back on my iPad Mini 4! I don’t want to have to play the game on the Samsung for the rest of my life, I usually play it on the iPad Mini 4! I downloaded the base game again. But now I can’t get my save back on. I can’t get it to download completely on to the iPad. It’s a download of 531mb. And it’s getting stuck around the 502mb region…..

So it has turned into an absolute nightmare now, and there’s some major disconnect going on. Whether it’s with Apple iPad mini 4, or iOS 15.7/15.8, Facebook and/or The Sims Freeplay….

Actually. I have since discovered it’s an Apple and iPad problem. As I have an Android tab too. And I’ve had to download The Sims Freeplay on to there, whilst this is going on, and I’ve discovered there’s no issue, with communication, between Facebook and The Sims game, on this Android tab, so what’s your answer to that? It’s auto-saving. It’s not asking me to log on. SO IT IS CLEARLY AN APPLE OR IPAD ISSUE!

No, it's an issue with the SIMs app for iOS which is not the same as the SIMs app for Android.

It had a little box pop up, that said “Allow Facebook to track”, I think, and I clicked yes of course, but it’s still not really working. It’s so hard to contact Facebook. I actually tagged Facebook, and Sims Freeplay and June’s Journey in a comment about it on Twex (Twitter/X, lol). Maybe I could leave a review in the App Store for Facebook, it can’t just be happening to me, but maybe?!

It only started happening in the last few days, it didn’t really do this before this week, or the week before, I don’t know what’s happened, even before updated to 15.8. I put 15.8 on in the hopes it might fix the issue, I’ve even changed the settings on the iPad to allow the tracking, not just via the FB app.

I just don’t know if it’s something I’ve done, or the FB app?!

Take note anyone who reads this forum and is having the same issue.
