Advanced Data Protection not authenticating iCloud notes

Hi everyone,

I have been using Apple's Advanced Data Protection (ADP) for iCloud for quite some time now. Apart from some minor issues, it has worked well so far. I often access my Apple Notes via web browser to view/edit them. To permit access through ADP a notification is sent to my trusted device (iPhone) which authenticates the access for a period of time.

Since yesterday, ADP is not letting me access my notes on iCloud web. The access request is sent to my iPhone in the normal way, but once I "allow access" the iCloud web browser returns the message "Can’t Display Your Notes ... Your device hasn’t given access to display your notes. Check that it is on and connected to the internet".

I can say that my device certainly is connected to the internet, so it is not that issue. I haven't changed anything else apart from the iOS 17.1.2 update; but ADP and iCloud notes on the web was working fine with that update before. I also turned off ADP and was able to access my notes fine, but that defeats its purpose.

Is anyone else experiencing similar? I think this might be an Apple issue so it might be best if I let it go and see if it resolves itself. I have seen some posts in the forums earlier this year from users experiencing a similar issue. It seems to have just fixed itself. I also tried Apple support but they were not too helpful. It seems ADP is a fairly niche service.

Thanks very much in advance.
