Kicked out of iCloud after giving permission to access iCloud data on the web

I get kicked out of iCloud.com when trying to access my iCloud notes even after allowing iCloud data to be accessed on the web. Details: I have advanced data protection on. I log in to iCloud.com, click on notes, click on allow access via the prompt that is sent to my iPhone, then the notes webpage starts to load - but immediately goes back to the sign in page!

I am considering turning off advanced data protection in response to this issue.

Hey mathskt,

We'd recommend clearing out the history and cookies on the browser you're using to access iCloud.com.

If this is in Safari on an iPhone or Mac, see the relevant article below if needed for the steps to clear the browser.

If you're on a different browser or a PC, the steps may differ slightly, but usually it will be under Settings for that browser. After that, try signing in again, you'll trigger the initial 2FA and data protection prompts, but then see if the Notes app loads properly.

Cheers!

Update **this issue has spontaneously resolved**

After giving up and simply disabling Advanced Data Protection to bypass this problem, I tried again after reenabling Advanced Data Protection and the problem is no longer there - I am happy to report that I can now access my notes via iCloud.com with advanced data protection on, via Safari on Mac and Edge on PC.

Perhaps Apple was listening? I encourage all of you to give it a retry.

Thank you for trying to help. Unfortunately clearing history did not resolve the issue.

In Chrome on Windows PC, I cleared all browsing data (all time) including history and cookies, then logged in successfully to iCloud.com after triggering 2FA again, clicked on Notes, clicked on my iPhone to allow access to encyrption, and was immediately kicked out after the Notes page started to load, just like before I cleared the history.

Did the same in Chrome with same result, showing that the issue is with iCloud.com.  (I have the same problem in Safari on Mac)
