The file couldn't be removed because it doesn't exist

hello, there is a file on my files app and I try to delete it because it’s a video I don’t want on my phone anymore. And it says files doesn’t exist but I still see the cover of the video and it’s a video of my old friend and I don’t want that on my files app. I tried iPad did not work and restarting phone. Someone please help.

The file probably no longer exists. To clear its icon, in the Files app, tab the Browse tab (bottom right), tap the “…” icon (top right), tap Edit and deactivate every single location (iCloud…). Restart the iPhone et reactivate the locations.

I’ve experienced a similar issue but it’s on my iPhone.


I solved the technical issue after almost a year by clicking on every clickable button.


Here it is: I long pressed on the unwanted file > clicked on Get Info > right next to Where, I clicked on iCloud Drive (yours might be in a different location) > finally, I could locate the unwanted file in its clickable form > long pressed then clicked on Delete > done
