I have an older MAC and do not remember my password. What is the safest way to recover my password?
I purchased a new printer and cannot hook it up because I cannot download the software without my password for the MAC.

A login password cannot be recovered, it can only be reset. The login password does not exist in a readable form anywhere on your Mac, so there is nothing that can be recovered.
