I need to use a character which is not available on my ipad but is on the macbook and I have tried holding every key for popups with alternate character which does find 3 of my 4 special characters.

Another solution would be to connect a hardware keyboard to your iPad.
Try an app like UnicodePad.
Or maybe change your password.

After Apple had asked for my MacBook password about 20 times and I refused to click "I Forgot the password" because I knew it and I make it a habit not to lie. iPad finally asked for a different apple computer password which had a passwords that could be typed on a iPad Keyboard.
I now works and is secure.
Yes the character I need is the Double Dagger but my emoji screen does not have it. In addition the screen that is asking for the password does not have the emoji button. It also will not let me paste the password from a text app.
Do I need to purchase a plug in keyboard?
