Will there be a journal app on the iPad as there is now on the iPhone?

My iPhone has just been updated and now has the Journal app. My iPad has also been updated to 17.2 but I don’t see the Journal app. I have tried using the iPhone version but I would much rather use the iPad and a keyboard to make notes about my day than the iPhone

iPad Pro (5th generation)

Apple has said nothing about plans to add the feature to the iPad. You can let them know it's something you'd like to see here:

Meanwhile, you might want to look at Day One. It's a fantastic journal app.

PLEASE provide us with an iPad version of Journal!

Meanwhile, there are hundreds of journal apps available that work on the iPad and most of them are better than Apple's app. Or, you could just use Notes. Journals don't require anything special. For the first 20 years of my journal-keeping life, I used artist's sketchbooks. They were cheap, relatively durable and had good quality paper.

Day One allows all sorts of media. At the moment, it appears to still be much better than Apple's app. And, according to articles I read, Day One will be incorporating Apple's Journal Suggestions (Apple has made that an option). The other thing I like is that Day One allows you to export your journal as a PDF. So far, I haven't figured out how you can get Apple's Journal entries out of the phone. But, I haven't spent much time looking.

The downside to Day One is that some features require a subscription. On the other hand, it can be accessed from an iPhone, iPad, Mac or any browser.

The Journal App needs to be release to iPadOS with a feature to handwrite with the Apple Pencil! This is essential for mental health practices.

Why are you telling us, your fellow users? No one reading here in this forum can make a change. Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

Meanwhile, the Notes app works just fine for handwritten journaling. Not to mention the hundreds of third-party apps available.

Please, my revered Apple developers, I beg of you, make the Apple Journal app available on the iPad. It’s my main mode of doing anything digital because it’s 💯 easier for me. With the few remaining years I have left, I would dearly love to be able to use the amazing Journal, but I really can’t on my phone. 🙏❣️

Meanwhile, you may want to try one of the many journal apps available for both iPhone and iPad. Many of them are much better than Apple's.

Honestly, right now it's really rudimentary. There are much more capable third party options availble. That's not to say it won't bet better but, if you want to keep a journal now, you can better.

Please add the Journal app to IPad. Had my IPhone stolen in Spain and can’t journal about my anger, sadness, and feelings of violation. That is on my IPad.

No one reading your post can do what you want. You need to tell Apple. I've given the feedback link at least once a page I this thread.

People have been keeping journals for hundreds (thousands?) of years, long before iPhones and iPads. Nothing was stopping you from writing things in Notes and then later copying and pasting that into Journal later.

I believe is has been pointed out on every page of this thread (four times on this page alone if you're sorting by "Oldest") that Apple doesn't read these forums for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

Meanwhile, there are lots of other, much better journal programs that work on both iPads and iPhones.
