When I want to update my credit card it gives me an error that the card was decline even that the card is good

As of 3-8-24 My apple account won’t let me download apps, says there’s a verification issue with my payment method which it has had on file for at least a year. A monthly subscription for apple care says declined. The physical card works in person for purchases as well as online merchants, that are not apple.
2 days ago it said the same thing for a streaming app subscription, I verified the card and it went through. (Didn’t change a single thing, just clicked verify). Card is not blocked or expired. There is significantly more funds available in the account card is attached to than the charge.
None of my cards have been declined, and I have just updated also. Are you perhaps using VPN on your phone? If so, delete the VPN profile and app and see if that fixes it.
What happened when you used the physical card?
Instant approval. I also had the antique backup of real green dollars as a last resort. Haha.
The problem is one of the troubleshooting steps I posted, and I’ve posted more than once, so it isn’t clear what isn’t true.
I am having the same issue now, I cant even download free apps without the payment method needing to be verified and Ive tried multiple cards

If it’s only for one vendor, it is the vendor rejecting the payment.
No definitely only on Apple Pay it’s an issue and it says it is Apple Pay that was declined not the card, but best fix definitely is use same card but PayPal so far that has worked everytime for me
Getting sick of Apple not doing anything to resolve this.
It is an Apple Problem they have to fix it😡😡😡
Weird thing is my card is working on my phone but still has old card listed on mac os app store, safari etc and I can't change it.

im having the same issue… it’s been a little over two weeks for me
I have added Paypal as my primary payment method to fix this for my wife. My Apple ID seemed to fix itself overnight but her’s didn’t until I switched to paypal.
Sometimes for me I can get it to charge my account and I know I have enough but my Apple account will decline it for no reason even if I have enough
Turns out it was Apple as you suggest Lawrence and they sorted it overnight without comment.
