Changing font size in notes

Apple does to allow us to alter the font size in Notes. Of course Apple will not provide something useful like the ability to change font size in notes. That’s too simple, too practical.

No, if you want to alter the font size in notes you have to change the font size for everything on your iPhone because the only way to change the font size in notes is to go to accessibility settings and change the font size across every single app on your iPhone.

So please, don’t chime in with helpful instructions to go to accessibility settings and change the font size, thanks. That’s not helpful. What would be helpful would be for Apple to offer a way to change the font size in the Notes app.

Since that’s the obvious simple answer I know for sure that Apple won’t do that.

I’ve found that the only way to do it, is to increase the font size via notes on a MacBook/iMac.

As long as you have notes on in your iCloud settings, the notes you create on your phone/iPad will also show up in notes on your computer.

Choose the note you that you want to edit.
Highlight the text of which you wish to increase the font size of.
While holding CMD, and press “+” or “-“ respectively, to increase or decrease the size of the font.

The changes will then be reflected in notes across all devices.

here it is:

im pretty sure you have atleast one note saved with bigger size font.

all you have to do for a new note with normal size font is to start from that note with normal size a new note and the new note will have normal size too. Easy

Maybe the accessibility settings differ by generation of iPad. I have a mini 6g and the latest update 18.1.1, but I don't have an app by app option for accessibility. I have set the font size 4/5 of the way to largest and it does not influence the text in Notes.

No trouble changing font size in (desktop) Notes (iCloud on, of course), but my gripe is that the font size maddeningly keeps changing. Somehow Apple's genius engineers thought it'd be super useful to keep changing the font size to (apparently) the default size from time to time, even though you're sure the whole document so far is written in only one size. There seems to be no workaround to counter this.

On macOS Sonoma Version 14.6.1, you go to Settings > Accessibility > Display > Text Size > Custom and there you can configure the reading size for Notes app specifically. Does the job.

On an ipad ? No it dies NOT give options for size or type of font .

Not sure this is answering the question. Are you saying that selecting Title, Heading, etc. is the way to change font size? Not very helpful. What if I wanted the Body font to be half the size it shows up as when pasting some text into Notes. As the OP’s frustrated response alludes to, why not just simply provide functionality to change the font to whatever is needed by the user? It is what it is, but it just seems so basic. I did see a reply indicating it can be done on the Mac, but Cmd +/- certainly isn’t straightforward or intuitive for the user. I sure wish Apple developers would look at these comments from users, and act on them. I doubt whether any comment in some suggestion box would lead to changes, as it’s clearly not their priority.
