Macbook-Someone has connected to your PC

So I logged into my macbook this morning and got the notification from settings saying “Someone has connected to your PC” and then the IP address and location being Russia, I then went onto settings and checked on my apple id but there is no other device on there so im very unsure what this means.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.4

Could be a "phishing" notification from a Web site. Often those feature unauthorized copies of the System {Settings/Preferences} icon – the better to fool the unwary – together with messages about there being viruses on your Mac or about your iCloud being "hacked".

A message saying that "Someone has connected to your PC" with a Russian location in it could be a new variation on the old "scare the fish/victim into biting" game. Especially if you check your Sharing settings and you do not find anything turned on that could explain an actual connection.

I got this too. It's basically a notification that's been allowed (possibly accidentally) by yourself. It might have been a website asking for you to 'prove you're not a robot' and once clicked sets up a notification via Safari and pings you lots of scary sounding messages which they want you to click on but which obvs you shouldn't. It can be removed apparently by following this: Customise website notifications in Safari on Mac – Apple Support (UK)
