iCloud photo sync keeps pausing to save battery power -- full batt; low power off; etc.

It's making me crazy. Whether plugged in, it doesn't matter, it simply won't sync unless the phone is on and the app is open. I've read the other qu/ans. Help!

There's a "resume" option and after I tap that every time the sync starts and completes. Full battery yet iCloud photo sync keeps pausing to save battery power I have been trying to sync my photos to iCloud for days now. Aside from being painfully slow, it keeps pausing the sync because it wants to preserve battery power. My phone is it at 100% charge. I do not need to conserve battery power. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

iOS Photo Sync pauses when on battery My phone always pauses photo uploads when I'm on battery. I do not want that. I always have plenty of battery for my needs and would MUCH rather have my photos then some extra battery life. As I write, I'm on my MacBook (unplugged) and it has paused downloading my mail because I am on battery. I am on battery maximum a half hour at a time, and don't need to worry about it. I'd rather have my mail. I saw this question asked in 2020 with several "Me Too"s but no replies, and the site seemed to tell me that I should ask the question again, so here I am.

OK, this is weird: as soon as I posted my qu., it stopped pausing no matter what I did. But it's been stuck at "103 items" ever since. My contracted upload speed is 10 Mbps, SpeedTest says I'm getting 11 right now. I've uploaded multi-GB videos in less time. So, the general question stands: what gives with iCloud photos?
