iCloud backup Problems

Had about 11000 pictures in my phone and clearly checked on while backing up to the iCloud still ended up with only 9000 images. Had pictures from a couple of vacations and weddings, all gone in an instant. 6 months of photography down the drain. I didn't expect this from apple. Any ideas if there's any to get back those pictures?

Either you have 200GB or 50GB, you cannot have 250GB icloud storage.

You also cannot look at the GB count to setermine if photos or data are missing. Apple software will compress or expand photos as required.

The number of images being 9000 not 11000 is your problem and there is no way of knowing how you lost them.

It has never happened to me either using Mac-phone-Mac sync or more recently iCloud Photos.

Somehow you deleted them or ran out of storage. A possible way is to have too little storage or letting the rental skip due to credit card problems more than 1 month. Or having 56GB of photos on a 50GB storage plan.

Getting them back after more than 30 days will be impossible if that is the case.

First, which ios do you have? If you have the latest ios 17.2 then Im not surprised because theres so many bugs in this icloud backup its not funny. I have found so many myself. Next backup size doesn't show, it just says LOADING (other ppl Ive talked to on here say the same thing is happening for them on their mac) Icloud backup storage is increasing instead of decreasing even after I manually deleted texts which I do everyday anyways. Ive been told it takes up to 4 days to delete on the server end OR SOMETIMES 180 days. Messages in icloud wont toggle on, its frozen. So yes theres MANY bugs in the latest ios 17.2 but if you dont have that ios and youre on an older one then I dont know maybe call apple.

I dont have 11000 photos I only have 1. 25 contacts 0 texts 1 photo so something is clearly wrong on this ios 17.2 to which Im hoping they fix asap. I heard that there may be deleted texts etc. stuck on the server end. I heard it could take 4 days-180 days to automatically delete itself. I refuse to call apple and spend hours on the phone with them. They need to make a section on icloud.com where WE can see the deleted texts thats on the servers end. We can only see deleted contacts on icloud.com under data recovery. I bought more storage just to be safe. Its a brand new phone by the way. Ive noticed all these glitches never fix itself until after a year or 2 which is ANNOYING so hopefully I dont have to wait that long for it to be fixed.
