How do I export Journal app entries to html or rtf?
I like to know if there is a way to export entries from the new Apple journal app to some sort of standard compliant format such as html or even rtf.

I am deeply chagrined that I didn’t realize one could neither search, nor cut&paste, nor export using Journal. Not only does it make future use of the app pointless, but I have deleted photos after adding them to entries. Now they are gone forever.
i never would have expected Apple to come up with such a flawed application.
I copy my Journal text and then either email or text it to myself. It’s still a pain but the app is handier than Notes. But just barely.
I was flummoxed when I realized all the notes I took could not be shared with the person I took them for...FINALLY, I figured out a fix. Take Screen shots and send those! Works like a charrm!
I initially thought it was odd but it is simple:
Open the journal entry, click on EDIT, press twice gently on any word, you get the menu to select all and then copy paste is as usual!

without option to export, share, print the app is just useless. Not going to spend my time on it. Export to HTML, pdf, is a standard these days.
I agree that it's an important feature. You should let Apple know:

I will probably abandon JOURNAL and especially advise against its use.
Not everyone will have the same needs in a journal app as you do.
You can let Apple know your thoughts here:
Meanwhile, look at DayOne or any of the hundreds of other available journaling apps.

what is apple doing by putting a half complete application out to the users knowing full well that we were counting on a finished product?
Apple is doing what they always do: releasing a very basic product and seeing how it's received. Sometimes, they never go much beyond basic; sometimes they do.
Also, why have they not taken cue from all of the complaints and fixed this issue ?
Probably because Apple doesn't read here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:
I would just put the feedback under "iPhone".
I know exactly how to get around this. Is for people like me that like to think outside the box.
all you have to do is turn on your record screen button. And then you go to Journal, and simply scroll down or up through all the journal notes you want and record thus creating a video of your journal notes.
you can then just share your video to whomever you please.
not true documentation yet. I bet you there is a way that you can get your phone to read off the information and store it. Then have a playback of the recording until your phone to export it to text.

Yup, that was suggested in this thread back in December. However, it still doesn't answer the original question. It remains impossible to export entries.
If you're taking notes for someone, you might be better served by the Notes app. Notes are very easy to share.
There have been several people that have made suggestions for this, but none are practical. Apple needs to step up and make this app useable. Needs at least “export” “copy multiples”. “Search” functions. I’ve stopped posting to mine. This attempt at a journaling app is currently worthless.
These are fellow user-supported communities where neither Apple nor its product development teams participate. Thus, anything addressed to Apple here will go unseen.
Instead, send direct and polite feedback to the Journal product team. Do not expect a reply to your post owing to volume.
Apparently not. This app has no appeal to me as Apple asks us to entrap our data. What happens to pur memories if/when the app is abandoned, if I choose to switch platforms? Also: no Mac support? A keyboard is a nice thing to have when journaling…
This is also very concerning to me. I was super excited about this app, entered all my journal entries I had on a random notes app into this new app but realized there isn’t a way to print or export. I worry about losing all my entries. Please provide a way to export!!
Luckily, I caught this problem after only one journal entry. I was super excited about the app, and then realized I could not export it. However, I was able to cut and paste my one journal entry into a different location.
