How do I export Journal app entries to html or rtf?
I like to know if there is a way to export entries from the new Apple journal app to some sort of standard compliant format such as html or even rtf.

I intended to use the app but changed my mind when I discovered you can’t print or export entries. Apple please fix this.
What's worse is backup is OFF by default. So if you migrate to a new phone and didn't know this, your data will not transfer to the new device. They should at least prompt you to check for that. Or hey, they could turn it ON by default instead. Abandoning this tool for sure. too bad. it was cute.
There have been several people that have made suggestions for this, but none are practical. Apple needs to step up and make this app useable. Needs at least “export” “copy multiples”. “Search” functions. I’ve stopped posting to mine. This attempt at a journaling app is currently worthless.

I have been using this app to gather clips of a menacing neighbor’s activities from my security cameras. Now suddenly i discover that i cannot export the clips. What a waste of time!
That's what often happens when you use an app for a purpose its developers never intended (and probably never even thought about).
Use Photos to store the clips.
Most of these features can be found in Journey.

I love Apple Journal and I like it to take over my life. Still I need export feature. I am sure this is the first version and Apple will provide some way soon.

without option to export, share, print the app is just useless. Not going to spend my time on it. Export to HTML, pdf, is a standard these days.
I agree that it's an important feature. You should let Apple know:

I will probably abandon JOURNAL and especially advise against its use.
Not everyone will have the same needs in a journal app as you do.
You can let Apple know your thoughts here:
Meanwhile, look at DayOne or any of the hundreds of other available journaling apps.

what is apple doing by putting a half complete application out to the users knowing full well that we were counting on a finished product?
Apple is doing what they always do: releasing a very basic product and seeing how it's received. Sometimes, they never go much beyond basic; sometimes they do.
Also, why have they not taken cue from all of the complaints and fixed this issue ?
Probably because Apple doesn't read here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:
I would just put the feedback under "iPhone".

Still waiting on this. Not looking forward to typing up all my journals thus far in order to export.

Meanwhile, consider a more full-featured journal app. I like Day One.

For wrote content, this is a rudimentary option (tedious). I am seeking the full presentation with images, etc, as easily as “SaveAs,” and create a document or pdf.

The more people who request this feature, the more likely Apple is to consider adding it.

I was so excited when I heard Apple was rereasing a journal app, but as others have stated, missing features make it rather underwhelming at present. No ability to export entries. In addition, there doesn't seem to be any way to import entries, so if you're coming from another journaling app or solution, you'll need to keep that app or solution around if you want access to your past content. I'm also really surprised that Apple hasn't yet made this app available on the Mac, or even the iPad as there are times when journaling would be far easier with a keyboard or larger screen. I know it's just the beginning though, so I'd love to see Apple go somewhere with this, it's going to be a long wait though if the only timess this will be updated is with iOS versions.

It's a disaster not being able to export. Why would apple stuff it up so badly? It's like selling a car without wheels..and you can't buy the wheels anywhere.
I'm not sure I'd consider one app not meeting some people's needs a "disaster". Maybe an inconvenience. If the app doesn't meet your needs, don't use it. There are lots of other options out there.
And, you can let Apple know your thoughts here:

The Journal app is really lacking of basic features as so many in this string have mentioned. I’m holding out for those features to materialize. Also need a means to search. Let’ s hear from apple with some expected dates to make this app useful/useable,
Apple neither reads nor responds in this user-to-user forum. You can let them know your thoughts here:

Note that they will not reply.
Meanwhile, take a look at Day One. It's a far superior app.
You can't. Apple won't allow it. This is why everyone is complaining to Apple to fix the problem. Please write to Apple. Others on this forum have left a link to be able to do this. Product Feedback - Apple
