How do I export Journal app entries to html or rtf?

I like to know if there is a way to export entries from the new Apple journal app to some sort of standard compliant format such as html or even rtf.

Other Journal App features I would love:

  • Theme/type (to enable future searching/grouping) - ie is this a simple update, a life event, a thought being captured
  • Links (ie to websites/references)
  • Multiple locations and Journeys (you can tag with locations, but what about journal entries on days when you visited a bunch of places in a city)
  • attach documents (eg PDFs)
  • Grouping/linking feature (these 12 entries are part of my hike to Everest Base Camp)

After writing three entries in the journal app I discovered I cannot export it and I’m using it to compose a feature article I’m writing in journal format about climate change. This makes me wonder if the journal app is a feeble attempt to compete w remarkable tablet insofar as it’s a way to focus and remove one from distractions.

now I wonder do I buy remarkable? Like it’s $600 or more and I already have I pad

maybd Apple , since it’s not really doing so well w sales in China and has no exciting innovation, might make its own writing tablet w pen like remarkable but for reduced price for those who have apple I cloud accounts and devices

Now for pictures and videos. It's a bit more complicated. Go to settings. Select Journal, look at the bottom for what it says to do with pictures taken with the phone. move the slider so that all the pictures you take with the phone and have inserted in Journal will also be saved to Photos. Unfortunately, the only way to get photos you took from outside and inserted into Journal is to either have saved the photograph you took, or do a screenshot of the photograph.

This application is very practical since we always have it on hand to record fleeting thoughts that are quickly forgotten otherwise. I use at the same time (often) the mood test (in the iPhone's Health APP). Very useful in psychotherapy. However, it is VERY BORING to have my therapist read extracts from my diary at each session when I could have sent it to him the day before by email. It's a shame but the disadvantages exceed its advantages. I will probably abandon JOURNAL and especially advise against its use.

Yeah, I am very disappointed with this apple journal app. I waisted countless hours constructing an important document only to find out that you can’t print, cut and paste. So I will have to re-construct again in another program.

what is apple doing by putting a half complete application out to the users knowing full well that we were counting on a finished product? Also, why have they not taken cue from all of the complaints and fixed this issue ?

I am very disappointed!!!

Thanks Apple….

It is one thing to protect intruders but at the same time if the lock doesn’t allow the user flexibility no one will use the app/feature. I wanted to put my journal into print as a book of days but find that the giant (Apple) has swallowed the key. Legacy is an important component when journaling our lives are short but meaningful. Please think of Ann Frank or journaling of any author. Documents in print are still of vital importance. I see that most complaints on the feed are asking for this option. Please enable a button that allows various ways to share and print.
