Mac find my is corrupted and cannot wipe hard drive

I am trying to erase all contents and setting on my mac studio, but its telling me to enter a password for an email that is no longer tied to my appleID to remove the "find my" lock. It does not accept my current password. Repeated failed attempts and it says the appleID is invalid.

it looks like I am having the same issue as here: Unable to reset MacBook - invalid Find My… - Apple Community

I recently encountered a similar issue with one of my organization's Macs when I was trying to have FindMy turned off so it could be repaired. The user tried turning off FindMy using the web browser on iCloud.com, but Apple service still reported FindMy as being active. Finally was able to get the user into their macOS account.....System Settings showed their AppleID was signed in (had the Sign Out button there), but a lot of the account information was missing. After signing out & signing in we were prompted to turn off FindMy, but the AppleID presented belonged to a previous user of the laptop. Fortunately we still had the password for that old AppleID, but we were never presented with any code...it just accepted the AppleID password without question. Still unsure how that worked.

TLDR: So I would suggest trying the password for the old AppleID listed if you still know it.

Erase your Mac and reset it to factory settings

Not seeing the need for the " but its telling me to enter a password for an email " mentioned.

Excerpt from Above link

An erase assistant then opens. Follow the onscreen instructions to erase your Mac and restore it to factory settings. Before the erase begins, you will see a summary of all the settings, media, data, and other items that will be erased or turned off.

  • When asked to sign in with your administrator credentials, enter the password that you use to log in to your MacForgot your login password?
  • You might be asked to enter your Apple ID password so that your Mac can sign out of Find My. Forgot your Apple ID password?
  • You might be asked if you want to back up your Mac before resetting it. If you want to do that, you can open Time Machine and back up to an external storage device
  • Finally, you will be asked to click Erase All Content & Settings to confirm that you want to proceed.
