Red Audio Clips when changing apps

When running Final Cut, if I switch apps and then come back to FCPX, I get the red bars on the audio clips (see below). I've tried relinking the files, and that works initially, but if I leave the app again and come back, the red bars re-appear and re-linking doesn't work the second time. Also, if I quit apps running in the background, the red bars will disappear but it's only a temporary fix because if I leave the app and come back, the red bars reappear.

I've now reached a point where quitting apps and relinking doesn't solve the issue. I've tried restarting and updating software.

I know Final Cut came out with an update recently, so it feels like this might be some sort of bug they need to address. Or maybe I just need more memory??

Appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Do you hear the audio when it’s red? Can you give the specs of the media, video and audio?

This is actually an old problem for some users, not new to 10.7. Not sure what the cause is. It may be something else on the system. You might want to post an EtreCheck report https://etrecheck.com giving the application Full Disk Access in Privacy & Security System Settings. Copy the report and use the Add Text button to paste the result into reply box.
