After updating my iPhone last night to 17.2.1 I can no longer connect to my network provider. Tried the resets and still it does not work!

very frustrating.

Solved my problem after 8 hours of troubleshooting! After the 17.2.1 update, my iPhone 14 Pro Max would not send or receive calls and got hot from accelerated battery drain. First AppleCare walked me through hardware diagnostics, network resets, backups and restores but the problem persisted. Next, Verizon helped me with a new eSIM, but the problem continued. Next, I focused on my company's corporate software, because I was intrigued by the VPN discussion in this forum. While I don't use a VPN, my iPhone is managed by my company's installation of Microsoft InTune, which I noticed (Settings:General:VPN & Device Mgmt) had a signing certificate (IOSProfileSigning.manage.microsoft.us) that had expired December 12, 2023. To test this theory, I removed this Management software and my phone's cellular calls worked perfectly again! So for the final steps, I worked with my company's IT department to reinstall the Management software, which has an updated IOS signing certificate, and the phone is now back to normal. Sharing in case others find my painful tech journey useful.

THIS FIX WORKED .

my iPhone 14 Pro Max was frozen. Nothing worked. I couldn’t turn it off, or reset. I tried all the reset options.

I noticed a few day before stopped it wasn’t syncing photos.

FIX. 1. If settings works > [our name] > ICloud. Than Tap Private Relay > Make sure it’s Turned OFF.

2. put iPhone in Airplane mode> wait a few minutes > than try Turning Off Cell.

I was shocked my turned off immediately . I waited 5 minutes than turned on. It worked my screen lite up with tons of iMessage, & calls I’d missed.

Hope this works for you !

FYI: if your Private Relay is already off. Go to settings > General > scroll to VPN & Device Management

If your really luck just put it Airplane for a few minutes & try turning off cell

You cannot downgrade iOS safely. There are ways to do so using unauthorized software but use at your own risk.

Are you wearing an Apple Watch when you are looking for these alerts?

If not then attempt to reset all settings General -> Transfer Reset -> Reset All Settings

If that doesn't solve the issue perform a hard reset (Tap Volume up Button Tap Volume down button then hold the power button until device goes dark

To those who are paying Apple to fix your phones which they've broken: please read my detailed post explaining how the Apple Store also told me that I'd have to pay $600 to get the damage caused by their update fixed, but I got Customer Service to authorize a free replacement phone based on the diagnostics that had been run by Apple Technical Support. You should ask for your money back. They caused the issue, they should fix it.

This is an issue with the carriers, all of them! Yes it’s been since iOS 17.2.1 but I called and yelled at my carrier after they said I was at high usage when I’d only used 1.4 gb. After the call I called to switch back to my old carrier, mint mobile, and they emailed a link to install an eSIM card so no waiting for one to arrive and my phones been working perfectly ever since. My daughter called her carrier who was diff than mine(hers was Verizon and mine was att). She also switched back to mint mobile and hers has also been working fine. I had the problem of it randomly stopping me from making or getting calls and texts to no data connectivity since beginning of December when I got the iOS 17.2.1 This is a known issue no one is fixing

If it’s on Apple side why don’t I have any problem? And why don’t hundreds of millions of other users have no problem? Its a problem on your phone. Have you contacted Apple support?

So I've been complaining now to Apple for 2 months since the IOS 17.2.1 changes wiped out my 15 Plus Hotspot in December.

As the phone was in warranty, I've had 2 replacement iPhone 15s now and still ended up with the same issue once the phone has updated and backup has been restored.

This issue has created so much messing around, hours of phone calls, messages and 2 visits to an Apple Store, still with no resolve.

This week, I had a breakthrough in being told the truth of what's going on... A Senior Apple Manager has told me its likely a new line of code within the IOS relating to security holes, and the mobile carrier EE just hasn't caught up yet with whatever new protocol they have introduced, hence the hotspot won't broadcast the cellular data.

So nothing they can or will do further, other than substantiate a refund from the retailer if I want it.

So just have to live it and hope it gets sorted in the next few months, or send back and get my money back.

I can hotspot to Apple products absolutely fine, but not Android.

Utter nightmare.

Ive tried 17.3 full version, no change. Restores, resets, everything.
