After updating my iPhone last night to 17.2.1 I can no longer connect to my network provider. Tried the resets and still it does not work!
very frustrating.

Solved my problem after 8 hours of troubleshooting! After the 17.2.1 update, my iPhone 14 Pro Max would not send or receive calls and got hot from accelerated battery drain. First AppleCare walked me through hardware diagnostics, network resets, backups and restores but the problem persisted. Next, Verizon helped me with a new eSIM, but the problem continued. Next, I focused on my company's corporate software, because I was intrigued by the VPN discussion in this forum. While I don't use a VPN, my iPhone is managed by my company's installation of Microsoft InTune, which I noticed (Settings:General:VPN & Device Mgmt) had a signing certificate (IOSProfileSigning.manage.microsoft.us) that had expired December 12, 2023. To test this theory, I removed this Management software and my phone's cellular calls worked perfectly again! So for the final steps, I worked with my company's IT department to reinstall the Management software, which has an updated IOS signing certificate, and the phone is now back to normal. Sharing in case others find my painful tech journey useful.
Same here. iPhone keeps freezing and losing network. I lost count of how many times I had to close apps and tabs so I could open again and get on with my life.
Can we:
1) uninstall the ****** thing,
2) for free because WHY would we pay to fix their faulty products, and
3) without loss of data or recovery issues?
This is rushed shoddy work
I’m facing the exact same problem after updating from iOS 16 to iOS 17.2.1. I do not have any VPN connection set up or whatsoever and my cellular data is completely broken which is a HUGE inconvenience on this holidays.
This is unacceptable. What concerns the most is that I swapped my SIM with an old spared iPhone I have and the connection is still nowhere to be found. I truly hope the update didn’t mess something up with the SIM’s OS.
Update 17.2.1
Iphone 12 pro max
never had problems with my iPhone before, now with this update my phone switch off by itself , after it’s not used.
to switching on again only with hard reset.
can be reversed the update?
Thanks
I tried this suggestion and it worked 100% for me. My wifi connections returned to normal as did my phone’s data connections. All my apps are now loading and working as they should too. Thanks for the tip!
As I stated - I don't have vpn.
The phone itself can't get an IP address at all at this point. Cellular data on the phone is not working, even with 4 bars of 5Guc. It's not able to acquire any ip address at all.
I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max with Cricket service updated to 17.2.1 and now my phone will not connect to our home's wifi. It occasinally connects for 1-2 minutes then disconnects again. I do not have a VPN set up. I have already reset network settings.
My my 12 Pro shut right off after the 17 and I just right before I got this 15 Pro I got the 17.21 or 17 three or whatever it **** near shut right down to. I don’t know what happened to anything now I’m having trouble setting up my iCloud account all over again on this 15 pro I just got.
Interesting. My experience with the t-Mobile Store was that they had no explanation or solution. They couldn't get the cellular data connection to work. Now the phone seems to have dropped down to an Edge connection, but still no data is getting through.
Perhaps the update did result in damage to the device. That would explain a lot.

So the real question is, is there a reason for us to sit and complain here? Would Apple really fix this or they just watch us complain? I’m new to this. I’ve had this issue for 11 days now.
Apple is not watching you complain. This is a user-to-user forum, and only other users are watching you complain. If you want to hear from Apple contact Apple support; you can click on “Support” at the top or bottom of this page.
Or you can read the thread you posted to, and see how others have dealt with this symptom. Or both.
Since updating to 17.2.1 my phone is over heating, contacts on my phone will not show up when searching by name, every call takes 30 seconds to connect, and a lot of the functionality such as clicking enter on a page will not work. Can this update be uninstalled? Will this solve the issue?
I am experiencing continuous failed outbound calls. Standard outbound calls on both 5G cellular data and while on WiFi do not work. FaceTime audio, video and WhatsApp calls are the only way I am able to make a phone call. Has Apple addressed this issue or has the community found a resolution?! This is ridiculous.
