iPhone not working after 17.2.1 update
After updating my iPhone last night to 17.2.1 I can no longer connect to my network provider. Tried the resets and still it does not work!
very frustrating.

Solved my problem after 8 hours of troubleshooting! After the 17.2.1 update, my iPhone 14 Pro Max would not send or receive calls and got hot from accelerated battery drain. First AppleCare walked me through hardware diagnostics, network resets, backups and restores but the problem persisted. Next, Verizon helped me with a new eSIM, but the problem continued. Next, I focused on my company's corporate software, because I was intrigued by the VPN discussion in this forum. While I don't use a VPN, my iPhone is managed by my company's installation of Microsoft InTune, which I noticed (Settings:General:VPN & Device Mgmt) had a signing certificate (IOSProfileSigning.manage.microsoft.us) that had expired December 12, 2023. To test this theory, I removed this Management software and my phone's cellular calls worked perfectly again! So for the final steps, I worked with my company's IT department to reinstall the Management software, which has an updated IOS signing certificate, and the phone is now back to normal. Sharing in case others find my painful tech journey useful.

Update 17.2.1 installed last night and my iphone 14 has frozen. Touch screen does not work and attempting to restart it makes a call to emergency services. I can't attempt any of the solutions when my iphone wont respond. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHH!
On the upside I can at least stop alarms using Apple watch.
then
then
The operative word here is QUICKLY; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky. If done correctly this will always work unless the phone has a hardware problem.
Apple actually did reach out to me after reading the comments I posted here right after news stories citing this discussion thread appeared in the US and India. At that point, between reverting to 17.2 (which can't be done anymore), then being forced to upgrade back to 17.2.1 to restore a backup, and working with t-Mobile second-tier support, things worked. FOR ONE DAY!
We are shopping for Android at this point. Way too much nonsense. 17.2.1 breaks connectivity, if not the phone itself.
No. Sorry.
17.2.1 to 17.3 update did not fix slow/no call setup issues on my MS InTune-managed iPhone XS Max with >6,000 contacts.
Posts in other forums suggest deleting contacts or removing InTune as the only workarounds.
Same with my Iphone 12, after update it keeps searching for service. I removed the sim card (which works in another phone), and continues searching service. I tried to update it in many ways, to the point I got now with an activation error. I had a call with an apple senior assistant and they said the new update might recognise an error in the hardware that the previus software didn't (doesn't make any sense at all). Now, after factory reset it fails to activate. anyone else with this issue?
For those having issues with baseband after update, there is a video showing what is the actual fail and repair that it can happens.
The chipset gets overheated and burnt, so might have to be replaced.

Connect your iphone to your Mac computer using the USB
Go to System Setting-Network
Choose your Iphone USB
Click on Details
Turn on Disable unless needed
Turn on Low data mode
Click Ok --- make sure your Iphone network status : Attached
Go to Network
Sign in to your iphone from Mac
If not, restart Mac and sign in again to all your device
Hope this works
To all of you who are being told you need to pay Apple hundreds of dollars to fix your phone that the update broke - see my posts on how I got them to give me a free phone - 12Pro, not under warranty.
Same issue on T-Mobile. If I disable cellular and then turn it back on it will work for a while before failing again. The cellular signal is fine - 4 bars 5Guc.
To send MMS (picture) messages to non-iPhones your phone must have Cellular Data turned on, as MMS cannot use Wi-Fi. In addition, if you have VPN installed on your phone that can interfere with MMS.
Definitely not just T Mobile, i just updated so it would connect to my watch and now i cant get service and im Verizon
None of these actions work. Both Apple and T-Mobile are pointing fingers at each other.
bottom line is that the 17.2 update has wiped out an iPhone
Same thing happened to me. Apple said is not their fault. Go to the store and change your phone
Immediately after installing this update (17.2.1) my iphone 13 cannot detect the sim. I can use wifi but not the sim. If I use the same sim in another phone it works
What did your 5G cellular provider say when you asked them?
