Issues on iPhone after iOS 17.2.1 update

I ran the iOS 17.2.1 update last night. This morning my phone seemed to be working fine. As the day progressed media apps (Youtube, Tiktok, Facebook, Audible, iTunes) started giving issues. It is like the media player (audio or video) suddenly freezes and I no matter how many times I tap the pause/play icon nothing happens. Then other audio on the phone started giving issues, including ringtone and tones for messages stopped working. By now the phone is like a brick and I cannot make/receive any calls.

I have gone through the "typical" remedies first - delete and re-install the problem app(s), restart the phone and try again - no joy.

I then did a factory reset on the phone and restored it from backup from my macbook - no joy

I then did factory reset again and tried to setup as new phone - no joy

Does anyone have any idea why my iphone 14 pro now thinks its is a kettle and and ideas to remedy?

I was able to resolve all my issues by simply removing older messages from my message box. Go to:

Settings > Messages > Keep Messages and select it 1 year or less depending on the number of messages you have.

After deleting older messages and rebooting my system:

1.) Messages not opening - Fixed

2.) Not being able to respond to calls - Fixed

3.) Apps Crashing - Fixed

4.) Sync Issues - Fixed

I think people who have large number of text messages in their message box are all facing the same issue. By the way i was on a 1 TB device with more than 600 GB remaining.

i woke up and my phone was on my bed side table saying water detection. It said to unplug to let it dry. There wasn’t any water what so ever on my phone. So why is it doing that? The only thing I could think was I did an update

Unfortunately it looks like I’m going to have to drive 30 some miles to the Apple Store to maybe get my phone back pre iOS 17. The constant SOS and no service is dangerous. Face it people. Apple wants you to buy another phone

since i updatet to 17.2.1 i Got battery problems, both on ipad and iPhone

im using both as i used to do, but theres a Big drainish

and like other noticed, lack or freezes the screen

After the upgrade my Kindle app keeps crashing. Have restarted and closed the app to no avail

Im having sync problems too. I thought it was an issue with my Mac or iPhone. Hopefully itll be fixed soon

Had this problem on PC, tried everything else, then saved he itunes library safely and delteed itunes for a full reinstall, all good afterwards.

WORST UPDATE EVER!!!’ Nothing is working right now!!! Including Siri, microphone etc etc. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!!!

Same issue here and just left Apple Store where they could not fix it and bluetooth knackered in my car with Itunes too.

Since I updated 17.2.1 I have lost 4G capability. I literally cannot use anything whilst on 4G. Does anyone else have the same issue.
