CarPlay issue on Kia

I have no idea if this is a CarPlay issue or an issue with my 2020 Kia. When I’m listening to the radio and push the mute button on the steering wheel, my phone (connected via usb) makes a sound with an associated haptic. It’s three short pulses. The same happens when I unmute. It will also do it when the radio isn’t on. Oddly, it doesn’t not make the sound/haptic when I’m listening to CarPlay audio (Spotify, pandora, etc). It started to randomly do this yesterday and it’s the weirdest, most annoying thing. I’ve switched usb cables, deleted and re-entered my car in CarPlay, turned on and off Bluetooth, and toggled/changed every audio setting I can think of. Any thoughts?https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-EKktXo8tYqLZEpRY4EvjuOn-zCD26Lz/view?usp=drivesdk

It sounds like an unusual issue with the interaction between your iPhone and the car's audio system. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem:

  1. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Try restarting both your iPhone and the car's audio system.
  2. On your iPhone, go to Settings > CarPlay and select your Kia. Check if there are any specific settings related to notifications or sounds that could be causing this behavior.
  3. Ensure that both your iPhone and the car's firmware are updated to the latest versions available. Software updates often include bug fixes that might resolve such issues.
  4. Check your Kia's manual to see if there's a way to reset the infotainment system. This might revert any settings causing the issue to default.
  5. If possible, try connecting another phone with CarPlay capabilities to your Kia and see if the same issue occurs. This can help determine if the problem lies with your iPhone or the car's system.
  6. If none of these steps work, consider reaching out to Kia's customer support or visiting a service center. They might have encountered similar issues and could provide a specific solution or advice tailored to your car model.

Given that the issue seems to occur specifically with the radio and not with CarPlay audio sources, it might be related to a specific setting or compatibility between the iPhone and the car's system. These steps should help pinpoint the problem or at least rule out certain possibilities.
