Face ID not working for app store

Also, if you and check it, the box, turns gray, but the white button moves to the right like it’s on the on position, but it doesn’t turn green. It moves back to the left and gray again.

The same thing happens if you try to turn it on when it’s off. it will be gray because it’s off but when you click it to turn it on, it will move the white dot to the right and it will turn green but then the dot will move to the left for one second and move back to green.

just seems to me like it’s shutting down in the background

i have the 15 pro max and i’m having the exact same problem. nothing i’ve done after reading this thread works. i’m gonna try to reach out to apple as well but from what i’ve read they don’t seem like they’re helping very much. they need to fix this soon because it’s very irritating having to type it in every single time 😭

I just got an iPhone 15 pro, updated to the latest iOS, coming from the 13 mini. I have tried everything on this post to get the Face ID option to pop up, but it just asks for the password every time. This needs to be a bug or something. We need a solution from Apple. I need help. I’ve literally tried every possible fix that’s been stated in this post. Apple please help.

As of your last post, have you managed to find a working solution. I’ve been on the internet for the past 6 hours trying all the solutions I could find, even the dumbest seeming ones. Nothing has worked. I even put in my Visa card details, but still my Face ID won’t work on App Store

SO FRUSTRATED! While I did have a payment method that needed to be linked to ApplePay, that did NOT solve my problem. I had brief hopes after I linked the card, I got the double click confirmation, but then I tried App Store and no luck.

Yesterday I was on the phone for hours with support for the SAME issue on a brand new iPad 9th gen, for TOUCH ID. And… I have the same issue with Touch ID on my Mac Studio. We solved the problem on the iPad but the same fix didn’t work in my iPhone 14 for FaceID.

As with everyone here, it works every where except AppStore and Apple Books.

My phone was fine before I got the iPad, just before Christmas. When I was setting up the iPad I also changed my iCloud password (2x). I don’t know if that had anything to do with it.

(btw, I hate the way this forum is set up, so hard to follow)

Iphone 13 mini. ios 17 updated. Same issues despite the same "fixes" mentioned here. I even reset the facial recognition to rescan my face. Our only hope is that Apple is losing sales by having a stupid glitch like this. Yes, it physically slides the App slider to on, off, and back to on when you enter the password.

Mine did that after a couple of days it started working again. Maybe a security thing after getting a new iPhone to verify it’s you, then after a few days of the same password being entered it completes the security process and starts working. This is just a thought from personal experience

I just got off the phone (again, this time for the phone and FaceID), with a senior support agent. We went through a million things with no luck.

I've been escalated to "Engineering" who is supposed to be calling me back at some point. I also told them about this discussion and the hundreds of people who are having this issue.

I will update when/if I learn anything helpful.

This also worked for me! I will note that after each step I force closed the corresponding app before moving forward so a fresh version was launched each time. This is the only way it worked. Awesome!

THIS!! 100% this!! Thank you, this has been driving me nuts for months now. I can never remember my password so having to type it in every so often has made it so that I had to keep resetting it and then forgetting it again (bc that’s just me). I guess somehow the App Store lost my password but wouldn’t let me re-enter it. When I turned everything off and restarted, it finally asked me my password when turning it back on. Man that was annoying!

This work after i struggled so badly to figure out why every time i tried to download it just kept making me click the install button, and even after it would loop and keep asking me to "install" then put id, so it'd never download and only loop. Thank you.

Same with me but whenever I try to put in my password - it checks it - the password is correct and it even shows a little checkmark showing that it’s good but then the gray circle spins and it says “Get” AGAIN. I have more than enough storage and what not so that shouldn’t be a problem. It’s so frustrating.

Recently Touch ID has came off my iPad and that is linked to my iphone14 pro max, I needed to download apps off my phone to get them on the iPad but yesterday Face ID for apps stopped working, I changed my Apple ID password but unfortunately I can’t remember what I changed it to, it says on a email account recovery request but I don’t need to recover it I need to find out how to change my Apple ID password without needing to wait for ages and it never work, any tips?

Do your issue get resolved now ?
