How do I avoid deleting hundreds of photos on my ipad when I’ve forgotten the passcode

How do I avoid deleting hundreds of photos, taken on a Viking cruise, if i’ve forgotten the ipad passcode?

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 15

If you had iCloud Photos turned on, then you would be able to sign in at iCloud.com with your Apple ID and Password and view the photos there.

View your photos and videos on iCloud.com - Apple Support

If they are available there, you will not lose them resetting your iPad.


If you had not used iCloud Photos, it is possible they are saved in your iCloud Backup and can be restored after erasing your iPad. Unfortunately there is not a way to verify if the photos were saved there and the iCloud backup would need to be turned on before you forgot your passcode.
