verizon internet is bad with new 15 pro max

I just came to New york about 5 days ago and bought new iphone 15 pro max and bought a Verizon prepaid sim card few days ago. But I hardly can connect to internet everytime I need it such as for google map or even browsing.

Took it to one of the Verizon shop but the so called ‘specialist’ can’t do anything. She has no clue at all.

it didn’t happen to my daughter’s and my wife’s phones which were also new with the same Verizon new prepaid number.

I restarted the phones few times even reset network.

Thanks for any help.

How about trying your wife’s or your daughter’s SIM card in your phone to see whether that helps? If it does, then you know you need a new SIM card account for your iPhone.

Also try calling Verizon’s support team to address your issue. You should have the support contact information with your SIM card purchase.

Your iPhone 15 Pro Max is covered by the Apple 1YR Limited Warranty (US) so have it at the Apple Store or at an authorized service center and take advantage of that warranty. You can also contact ➔ Apple Support You may find better service with Apple, however, it may lead right back to the settings of your Verizon pre-paid eSIM account controlled at Verizon’s end.

So prepaid support with Verizon (and most carriers) isn’t that great. It’s part of the trade off for theoretically getting cheaper service (less support, lower on the access tier, etc). Unfortunately going to Apple for support may not get you much help either since if the issue is solely connected to Verizon prepaid then there is nothing that Apple can do. Because you currently have a prepaid account I’m not sure if you would be eligible to try the 30 day free test run of the Verizon service (in order to test out if your experience is better with the true post paid service versus what you’re having with the prepaid. Not to convince you to switch over postpaid but to determine if your issue is tied to the slowdown and everything some prepaid users can experience at any given moment). You could check and see via the Verizon website. As far as Verizon customer service at a store…most of the time those employees are not trained on the prepaid account side and usually can’t assist with that other than advising you to contact Prepaid CS via phone.

Since the iPhone 15 sold in the U.S. is eSIM only, I'm wondering how one would swap SIM cards.

Now, if the iPhone 15.....purchased in New York.....does have a SIM card slot, then that brings up another question.
