Why does iPhone Bluetooth keep cutting out?

I recently switched from Pixel to the iPhone 15 Pro, and it's been mostly great, but for some reason my audio continues to cut out randomly. It doesn't happen with any static, the audio just goes silent for about 1 second, and then it goes back to normal. I haven't noticed any pattern either, and I've noticed it in multiple apps (including Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok). I only use my phone with airpods, so it's not a speaker problem, and I know it's not my airpods because I've had them for almost a year, using them with my android phone, and I don't think I've had this issue, certainly not this much.

This is really starting to drive me crazy, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

OMG, I LOVE YOU!!! Stupid Alexa app, this totally fixed it for me. Thank you!!

LOL I made Tesla take apart my car and test everything with the Bluetooth module. I just tried it on my wife’s Tesla, and when it also kept cutting out on her car, and because it doesn’t do it with her iPhone or our kid’s iPad, it made me curious and search up the answer on Google. It definitely is an iPhone issue, and more specifically, the Alexa app. I almost considered swapping car manufacturers because of this. My bad.

Go to your iPhone Settings > Alexa > then turn off Bluetooth.

I have the same problem on to iPhone 15 pro in a row. Apple did send me a replacement phone, but unfortunately exact same problem. There is an underlying issue here that apple needs to fix, I did not have this problem on my iPhone 13. I have tested playing music using my iPad on my car and no issues, or my son iPhone SE. it’s pretty much specific on iPhone 15.. it’s pretty annoying not being able to listen a song without interruption unless you use a cable..

Ok...I received 2 JBL Flip5s as a gift. Brand new. I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max running FW IOS 18.2. The JBL's are running FW 0.5.6.0. You would think some hefty iPhone processing power here right. First note, my issue is after pairing the phone to ONE Flip 5, and streaming any music off Pandora or Spotify or just youtube, its a constant crackling / choppy AF mess. I thought I had a bad Flip5. I tried the "reset" process, forget device, repair and nothing helped...Then, my Apple Ultra Watch was connected so I turned off the watch and walla! The streaming cleaned up! Turn the watch on...back to choppy horrible experience. So I unpaired off the iPhone 15. I then paired the Flip 5 to my MacBook Pro M1. No issues at all. Streams perfect to the Flip5. Also, with the iPhone 15 and the JBL App, I was able to stereo pair and party connect both Flip 5's...play anything off the iPhone with the Watch paired too...forget it, horrible. There seems to be not enough priority or processing power to stream to these JBL's. As the recent and 1000's of posts on Reddit, and other sites shows, this is being ignored. I don't have any issues with iPhone in my Toyota Venza integrated car Bluetooth...

Apple, what ye say?

I keep hearing the same ole song and dance about so called interference and distance and battery. Its not any of that my Samsung and Google pixels rarely ever cut out no matter what, it's iPhone's that cut out continuously because every time I get an iPhone no matter the model from 7 to 15 Pro they all cut out on all music streamers I have tried. So enough of the lame excuses. Just except iPhones have terrible Bluetooth connections and has nothing to do with me not liking iPhones because they are solid phones and I love them equally with Android phones, but I know that iPhones have the weaker Bluetooth signals and it's the same with any Bluetooth headphones cause I don't know everything or even a lot but from my experience Android phone's have the better Bluetooth connections guaranteed.

I have had this problem for years when connecting my iPhone 11 Pro to my carkit, later my iPhone 13 Pro, and now my iPhone 15 Pro

It's driving me nuts, I'm not allowed to use my phone while driving, so I have to use my carkit, but when I do the other side can't hear what I'm saying

My girlfriend owns a cheap Samsung, and that works perfectly with the same carkit

The stuttering happens when I'm alone in the car, so it's not interference from her phone

Just chiming in to say I’m having the same issue. Recently upgraded to 15 pro from an SE 2020. My SE had no issues with Bluetooth connectivity. It seems to happen more so when the phone is in my pocket vs sitting on our table or counter. My son does have a glucose monitor and insulin pump that are managed via Bluetooth on a galaxy s23 but like I said, never an issue before switching phones. Annoyed since I use it daily to play music in our home through our soundbar. This makes me a sad panda.

Thanks for stating this. Very frustrating for any affected users - what is happening to Apple Software? Bugs don't seem to be addressed no matter how common they are in the community anymore. Personally this issue also happens while stationary as well - we have been using an old iPhone paired to a Bose Connect bluetooth speaker as our white noise machine beside our bed for about 5 years. Having just updated to 15s, I've paired an old 11 Pro to the speaker. It has randomly dropped out for a split second some nights ever since, regardless of all troubleshooting (I'm a software engineer).

(Side note: oh wow. Responses to specific posts aren't inline haha. How poor is that!)

I also have this issue, my Bluetooth cuts out all the time, i know it's caused by the device running out of ram or processing power because the noise my earbuds make are the exact same noise I get when I push my DAW too hard and it gets overloaded

Bluetooth is faulty and not working as it should, we want this fixed as a matter of urgency!

Stop giving robot generated replies, we pay considerable money for an iPhone and the least apple can do is address this issue

Pass this thread over to them? Send them an email? Do something!

I’m having the same issue with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’ve used multiple different headphones (Air Pods, Air Pods, Pro, Beats Studio), multiple Aux to Bluetooth radio adapters (different brands for both family and friends), and two different motorcycle Apple CarPlay units that I’ve purchased for my personal motorcycles (both of which are completely different brands). I’m at a loss for the connection issue. For my headphones or aux Bluetooth devices it seems to pause for a few seconds or simply skip parts of the song (I only use Apple iTunes). For the CarPlay devices it lose connection all together to the unit and the vehicle starts looking for my phone again. This is especially concerning and dangerous when I’m riding my motorcycle through town and I cannot see my next turn until my phone reconnects and I’m stuck hoping it comes back in time before I miss my turn.

My phones has never been dropped, has always been in a QuadLock phone case and always has a screen protector on it. It’s continued to be the issue for the device as I do NOT have this issue with my other devices that my children have…which I could see maybe because they are using older devices?

I did check I do NOT have the Alexa app installed anymore so that isn’t an issue on my end since I’ve migrated my home devices over to all Apple (Apple TV, HomePods, etc.)

Any thoughts or ideas you all have would be greatly appreciated. I don’t recall having this issue with any of my other iPhones, and I’ve been a customer since iPhone 3G.

I’ve completely removed Bluetooth access from everything but my vehicle & my bose headphones, never had Alexa at all. I went through and deleted my original Bluetooth connections and re-established them. Still the cutting out problem exists for any audiobook through my library app or podcasts and anything in the music app, but YouTube videos playback without a problem. It can’t be an entirely motion based issue, because the glitching will occur while I’m stationary for long periods of time.

It used to be intermittent but now it’s constant. Can’t say I’ll be upgrading phones anytime soon (13 Pro Max) since it seems like newer models have the issue also.
