My Apple Watch Ultra does not start at all after swimming in the pool

After swimming in the pool for about 20 minutes the screen of my Apple Watch Ultra went black. For a while, the Apple logo was displayed but it disappeared. Tried to reset, unsuccessfully. Randomly the “snake” logo appears on the screen. I left it charging over the night. The watch warms up a little but this is all.

On your Apple Watch - Try and Force ReStart your Apple Watch as indicated below:

  • Hold down the side button and Digital Crown at the same time. The Digital Crown is the rotating button located on the side of the device.
  • Keep holding these two buttons down until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.

If that does not help then review the instructions in this guide 👉 If your Apple Watch won't charge or it won't turn on

You have an Apple Watch Ultra which should be able to easily handle 20 minutes of pool swimming. I recommend that you have your Apple Watch Ultra examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center for further diagnosis and a resolution.

Update -Looking at the time stamp on this thread I see it from last year. I have no idea why it showed up in my notifications!

About Apple Watch water resistance - Apple Support

I know that the Ultra is supposed to be a rugged watch but if perchance you did something too rough or used a chemical too harsh for the watch, it could have damaged the watch's water-resistant seals allowing water to enter and destroy the watch during the swim.

The examination Axel Foley has encouraged you to get for the watch will determine if that is the case.
