Can't adjust or turn off bluetooth

Trying to turn off Bluetooth on my Mac mini 2018 with Sonoma 14.2.1, but the on/off switch is set to on but also greyed out. In the BT settings there's a message saying that the bluetooth settings are configured by a profile.

I don't know where this profile comes from, I found one in "Profiles" that I couldn't identify so I deleted it. I've tried in the terminal to turn off bluetooth, have removed the bluetooth.plist but nothing helps, it's still ON and not possible to change, and still set by a profile, even though no such exists. Need help!

Mac mini, macOS 10.14

Well I'll be ******! I solved it in the most mysterious way. I had previously removed the bluetooth.plist from the library preferences, and restarted the Mac, but with no result. But now when I tried to find the new plist I couldn't find it! Even though I reinstalled the system! But what I did find was a file in that folder that was only called "Bluetooth". So I added ".plist" to the file name and restarted. And now everything is back to normal. Thanks for the suggestions!

So who set the Profile?

Is this a work or school connected Mac?

See if you have unknown Profiles.

To remove a configuration profile in macOS:

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences....
  2. From the View menu in System Preferences, select Profiles.Note:
  3. Profiles won't be visible until you have at least one profile installed.
  4. Select the profile you want to remove, and then press the - (minus) button. Click Remove to remove the profile.

This Mac is not connected to any other network than my home LAN. And here's the thing - I did have one profile in the System Preferences>Profiles list, but I removed it. So now there are no more profiles in that place. But I suspect there could be some other more app-connected profile somewhere that's blocking the settings. But I don't know where to look for it. It could be that some code from my old Satechi keyboard needs to be removed, but all pairing/unpairing is done from the keyboard, and it stopped working so there's no solution there either.
