Apple USB SuperDrive does not work, ejects all DVDs. I have a 2018 Mac Mini, with an Apple USB SuperDrive. If I put in a DVD it gets ejected. This happened with os 11, and still happens with the latest os 13.5.1. I've tried 2 different Apple USB SuperDrives. I have a cheap LG external USB DVD player that works fine, and also worked on my previous os. (some random LG compatible with my Mac but an Apple device isn't?) Both drives show up in System Information. Anyone know a way to get the SuperDrive to work?

macbook air won't recognize superdrive, can't eject bad dvd I put what I think is a bad DVD in a superdrive connected to my Macbook Air, M2 2022. Now my laptop doesn't see the superdrive and I can't eject the disk. I tried restarting, restarting holding down the option key and restarting while holding down the mouse/track pad. Nothing ejected the disk. How can I eject the disk?

Apple Superdrive does not accept DVDs, CDs work fine though? DVD's rejected from the superdrive on both my Macbook Air and my family members, but when we try CD's it works perfectly fine. Any advice? I wondered if they were simply old DVDs but tried a new one and it still ejected. It makes lots of noises, stops and then ejects. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Thanks - after playing around with different DVDs and trying a friend's SuperDrive, I decided it's the drive, and just bought an open box new one on e-bay!

Could be the disc. Wrong format... corrupted.. dirty.

Try another disc. If the same thing happens then you have a problem with the drive.

Could be a dirty lens. There are cd lens cleaner discs available to buy for cheap.
