My Macbook Air doesn't charge. Why?

Been using my Macbook for over 5 years for studying work.

I currently urgently need it but I find out that it doesn't charge. When I plug it into the original charger, nothing happens.

Then I searched old equipment and used phone charger, old USBC cable and USB-USBC reduction.

The laptop then indicates charging, but it doesn't or charges extremely slow.

Where's the problem?

Based upon what you have said, it appears that you need to purchase a new charger for your MacBook Air.

A charger designed to charge your phone will likely not have enough wattage to charge your laptop. For that you need a charger with more watts.

The MacBook Air with 2 USB-C ports requires an Apple 30W or greater USB-C charger.

When you purchase the charger be sure to purchase an Apple USB-C to USB-C cable.
