Can't access User & Groups in Settings

I was trying to change the name of the home directory folder and changed the directory location of my username on my iMac and moved it to Guest folder. I was able to change the name of the original home directory folder, but now when I log in, I can't access any of my files and I have no access to the User & Groups folder to change it back. Please help

iMac 24″, macOS 14.2

Here is an Apple article with instructions that you should have followed:

Change the name of your macOS user account and home folder - Apple Support

If you have a second admin macOS user account, then you can use those instructions to fix your mistake.

If you do not have a second admin user account and are running macOS 10.15, 11.x, 12.x, or 13.x, then you can use the information in the following article to trick macOS into creating a new macOS admin user account (those instructions can be modified if using macOS 10.14 or earlier):

Restarting Setup Assistant to create Admin user - Apple Community

If you are running macOS 14.x Sonoma and have no second admin user account, then your only option is to erase the disk followed by reinstalling macOS & restoring from a backup.
