Same issue. New Iphone 15 pro. Said there was an update last night. I clicked install, and now the touchscreen doesnt work, and I've restarted it like 30 times with the up volume, down volume and the right button through the apple logo, and connected it to my computer where it shows up as DFU and I tried everything and it says it cant be reset or restored. This sounds like a pretty big issue to me that Apple should be paying attention to before the plaintiff's bar sniffs it out.

Same issue here. Updated iPhone 15 pro last night, now unresponsive screen. Everything else works, including buttons.

Found a fix on another thread that worked!

Doesn't require reset and restore:

  1. On a Mac, Download Apple Configurator from the Mac App Store. If you dont see you may need to update your OS.
  2. Open Apple Configurator app and accept license agreement.
  3. Plug your phone via USB C into your computer (if there are two ports one article suggested the left most port if you are facing them, not sure if this matters)
  4. It will show up that your phone is in "DFU mode"
  5. Right click on the DFU icon, click Advanced > Revive Device, then click Revive
  6. You will have to click "Allow" several times through the process as it connects and reconnects to the phone, and reinstalls the OS without factory reset, loosing any of your data, etc.

Pretty easy, took about 10-15 minutes, and voila, phone is fixed.

Hope it works for you guys too.

Same happened to our iPhone 15, iOS updated and the phone screen completely unresponsive since. Tried to reset with the volume like below said, but still don’t work. Apple Care Support was absolutely unhelpful. They just seemed like don’t understand the fact the device absolutely unusable, even unable to turn off the device itself. They kept asking to turn off the find my phone function but it’s impossible on a non responsive device. They can’t send verification messages since screen locked and won’t be able to look at messages. People spend hundreds of dollars on these phones and they way Apple Care support treated us today was absolutely disgusting. They don’t care at all about to fix their issues-bugs with their phones. “I can’t do anything until you don’t turn the find my phone option off”….well the phone stopped working. So they didn’t help we got really mad and they just hang up the phone on us. Truly “thank” for their disgraceful service. The fact they don’t care people depending on their phones nowadays it’s unbelievable. Hope your problem will be solved soon tho.

Try a "forced" restart of your device using these instructions: Put it on charge for at least half an hour, then, keeping it plugged in, use these gestures:

In rapid sequence, press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the side (power) button. Only when the Apple logo appears (it might take 10-20 seconds), release that button (ignore all other screens that might appear, the one with the "slider" to turn the device off included).

If the issue still persists, since your iPhone is still covered by warranty, I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly, using this link:--> Contact Apple for support and service , or make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> https://locate.apple.com/choose-country-region . After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

Regards

Giulio

Same! The closest Apple Store to us is an hour away and it’s always extremely busy.

Basically it’s seems like impossible to fix or replace it until you turn off the “find my phone”. But how can we do that if the device completely unresponsive. Now we are just waiting for the battery to completely die, maybe that way if we leave it turned off for a while it fixes itself.

It was so funny when i told the support guy I been reading about this issue and he asked me where i was reading about it because he never heard of this problem, I said apple.com and he didn’t say anything. Seems like they don’t want to deal with this issue.

Verizon told us they know about this specific issue and it seems like it’s not just a software issue. :/

Wonder why apple doesn’t “know” about it.

I've been trying to see if Apple has responded to this issue yet. I woke up to an unresponsive iPhone 15 Pro Max and I'm ******. Such an expensive phone to be going through this issue. Nothing restored the touch response. Not a hard restart, not plugging it in, not removing the screen protector, not siri, nothing. I called Verizon and they were little to no help and wanted to send me a refurbished, certified phone to replace this brand new phone. Spent all day talking to tech after tech, warranty reps, and then asurion reps. It's been a such a pain! The very last tech I spoke with said they would be sending me a new phone that should arrive tomorrow but now I'm afraid to allow any software updates if this is going to happen. Very frustrated. I've only had this phone for about a month and a half and its has zero damage, not even a scratch.

This definitely isn't just a 17.3 issue. Happened to me back in November when my phone updated to 17.2. I turned off auto updates after I was able to get it working again. I have not updated and it just happened to me again. Screen wouldn't shut off after receiving notifications even though all my settings were correct. I turned the phone off and back on again to the screen no longer working.....again.

The Apple Configurator Revive option fixed it the first time. Currently trying it again. Apple needs to issue a recall on these phones because there is an obvious hardware issue here. iPhone 15 Pro Max 1T
