channels, hdhomerun audio stuttering

while displaying video from ethernet-connected hdhomerun tuner, channels & hdhomerun audio stutters, while vlc does not.

vlc does not buffer, while the others do, for rewind, so perhaps buffering is a problem

I’m running multiple HDHomeRun ATSC DTV receivers at one location I maintain, with an older version of Elgato EyeTV in macOS, and encountering no issues. That setup is entirely wired, end-to-end.

First step here would be verifying that the HDHomeRun firmware is current.

Restart the HDHomeRun boxes, as well.

Then verifying the network configuration and the available bandwidth. Make sure the 100 MbE link is working.

If Wi-Fi is involved anywhere here (and your footer shows iPhone, which would involve Wi-Fi), verify that Wi-Fi link is working particularly.

Then characterize the issues and have a discussion directly with the folks knowledgeable in whichever app is stuttering.

thanx, turns out channels needed to use experimental audio driver, works fine now:-) i've given up on hdhomerun s/w-( the hdhr prime cablecard tuner works fine tho.

and i too run eyetv v3.6.9, on 10.13.6, wired, as the 64 bit version doesnt work with the elgato hybrid usb tuner (which i only plug in when i digitize from vcr, as it runs hot)-: or the hdhr dual:-\

but on those i have a video stutter, but only on 720p channels, & only @ full screen...and it comes & goes...go figger:-\

and elgato was bought by geniatech, so no help there:-\
