Problems with the 'Contacts' app on the Mac

Adding a new card or a new contact has been problematic. As soon as I enter a name or phone number, the app jumps back to my first contact without saving the one I was entering.

I think i have resolved the issue - it's a little strange but it seems to work.

1) click on create a new contact / new card

2) enter the first name, and immediately

3) go to 'SAVE'

It will save that contact. All you have to do then is edit it, and re-save.

impossible to add new contacts to contacts list in any recent Mac OS The contacts list and Mac has been well my useless for at least the last three or four OS versions. It is impossible to add a contact. After entering one or two items the edit just disappears. Contacts creating a dupe when editing a contact card On our MBP 2017 running macOS Ventura 13.6.3, there are many duplicate cards in the Contacts app. Find duplicates does not find them. And, a new duplicate is created each time we edit a card. Already tried these steps that did not fix problem: 1) Booted in Safe Mode 2) In the "~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook" folder I deleted the following 3 files then rebooted: AddressBook-v22.abcddb AddressBook-v22.abcddb-shm AddressBook-v22.abcddb-wal

Contact App needs help. Any Fixes appreciated Contacts App has been experiencing many glitches for years. Does Apple intend to fix this app? Apple's Contact App for Macs and IOS has been experiencing issues for quite a while. I think we all can agree that a Contact app is crucial to most anyone in this day and age.
