Apple tv windows app freezes pc

I've been having problems with the apple tv app on windows 11. I've been watching For All Mankind and at least once an episode it's frozen my pc. It will be playing fine, then the picture will freeze while the audio continues for another minute and I can't do anything with my pc other than do a force reset by holding the power button. I've used the app before and I don't remember any problems, although it's been a while and it was before I upgraded my pc and switched to windows 11. It's making it difficult to watch and I'd rather not switch to the browser since it doesn't play in 4k.
