I have my sons iPad and he passed away how can I get in it with out his apple ID info

My Father passed away. I have his iPad but can not access it with his Apple ID My Father passed away 8-6-2019. I have had his iPad mini since then. I helped him set up his Apple ID and password. I can not access it though as I must be using the wrong password
