iPhones don't report RAM usage to their users, so I assume that you are referring to local (device) storage.

The amount of local (device) storage that an iPhone has is fixed for life. It will always have the same amount of storage that it had when it rolled off the line at the factory.

It sounds like you have filled the storage on your iPhone with photos, music, movies, apps, etc. In order to free storage, you will need to delete stuff off your phone (after saving copies elsewhere first).

NOTE:

  • If you are using iCloud Photos, and you delete photos on any device, that is taken as a request to delete them everywhere, including in iCloud. If you want to offload your photos to a Mac that is also running iCloud Photos, you need to Export them to a location OUTSIDE the Mac's main Photos Library BEFORE deleting the originals.
  • There is a Photos setting to "Optimize iPhone Storage". If you select that, it gives permission to the iPhone to substitute thumbnail photos for full-size ones to free up space on your device. Full-size copies of the photos remain on Apple's iCloud servers so the phone can download them "on demand" later.
  • When you delete photos, the iPhone may move them to a Recently Deleted album, to give you the chance to change your mind. If you want to hurry up and recover the storage right away, you can delete things from the Recently Deleted album – but once you do, they're permanently deleted.
