Services Menu Freeze?

I found this excellent TidBit article titled OS X Hidden Treasures: Services

When I highlight text in a page I am viewing in Safari, or any other Apple application, and choose 'New Email with selection', Mail opens with a blank email - the selected text does not appear in the body of the email - and I cannot close that blank email. I have to force quit mail to get rid of it.

Can anyone offer any help with this?

iMac 27″, macOS 14.2

Check for and apply any available macOS updates, boot into Safe Mode (to disable various add-ons), and test again.

If that fails, log a bug report with Apple: Product Feedback - Apple

Thanks for the reply and just fyi, I started in Safe Mode, tried again, and got the same results.

Just won't work for me. Also tried a restart but that did not fix it either.
