iPhone always on silent mode

My iPhone keeps silencing incoming calls known and unknown. I checked all sounds and ringtones, put silencing unknown callers off, switched on and off many times yet it keeps silencing calls and not vibrate either? Any tips will be very much appreciated

iPhone 8, iOS 13

If your iPhone is consistently silencing incoming calls and not vibrating despite checking the settings, there are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can take to address this issue:

  1. Check Do Not Disturb:
    • Make sure that the "Do Not Disturb" feature is not enabled. Open the Control Center (swipe down from the upper-right corner on iPhone X and later or swipe up from the bottom on iPhone 8 and earlier), and ensure that the crescent moon icon is not highlighted.
  1. Check Individual Contact Settings:
    • Verify that the specific contacts whose calls you are missing are not assigned a custom ringtone that is set to silent. Open the Contacts app, select a contact, and check the ringtone settings.
  1. Reset Settings:
    • Resetting all settings on your iPhone can sometimes resolve issues related to sound and vibration. To do this, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Note that this won't delete your data but will reset system settings.
  1. Check Bluetooth Devices:
    • If your iPhone is connected to Bluetooth devices, such as headphones or speakers, the sound may be routed there. Disconnect any Bluetooth devices and check if the issue persists.
  1. Update iOS:
    • Ensure that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Software updates often include bug fixes that can resolve such issues. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates.
  1. Check Ring/Silent Switch:
    • Verify the position of the physical Ring/Silent switch on the side of your iPhone. If it is set to silent, your phone won't ring or vibrate for incoming calls. Toggle the switch to change the mode.
  1. Check Accessibility Settings:
    • In some cases, specific settings in the Accessibility menu might affect sound and vibration. Go to Settings > Accessibility and review the settings related to hearing and vibrations.
  1. Restore from Backup:
    • If none of the above steps work, you might consider restoring your iPhone from a backup. Before doing this, ensure that you have a recent backup of your data.
  1. Contact Apple Support:
    • If the issue persists after trying all the above steps, it may be best to contact Apple Support for further assistance. There might be a hardware-related problem that requires professional attention.

Remember to back up your data before attempting significant troubleshooting steps, especially those that involve resetting settings or restoring from a backup.
