Dongle not working for earphones but it is for charging.
Yesterday I purchased an Apple Dongle for my earphones with an audio jack. I plugged in my earphones, and it didn’t work. Must’ve tried over 100 times to get it to work. I troubleshot looked at videos on YouTube. One of them said to go into settings and go to sounds and haptics, and then go down to headphones after, and then “forget lightning adapters”. I did that. And it didn’t work. I turned off my phone, that didn’t work. I turned it on to airplane mode, and that didn’t work. I made sure my phone wasn’t connected to any other divides via bluetooth. I also turned off my Bluetooth.
So I though I just purchased a faulty Apple dongle.
To troubleshoot even further, TODAY I purchased a dongle that can charge and do earphones at the same time. It has a charging port and an audio jack. The dongle says that it’s made for Apple products. Specifically IPhones. It has the FCC logo on it. And it’s Apple approved. My phone is up to date. IOS 17.03. My actual charging port in my phone is clean. And I know it works fine with no issue because I charge it every night with no issues.
When I plug the in the dongle(that I just purchased today) I don’t get a message or anything saying that I’ve done so like you’re supposed to. BUT, when I plug my charger in to the charging port of the dongle though, my phone charges. So I know i know it’s not the charging port on my phone, and it’s not the actual dongle itself.
It has to be a software issue.
Can I get any help with this please?
