Apple didn't deliver the items i ordered

I ordered an ipad pro, an apple pencil, and an ipad cover from the Apple Store app. It said it would deliver the items on a Monday. I was away for the weekend, when they notified it was delivered via UPS. I never received the package. There is no signature. There was no notice for attempts for delivery. The UPS person just took a blurry picture of the mail slot for the whole building.

I expected this to be delivered in person considering the amount i payed.

i asked apple about it. They said they would start an investigation. Do they guarantee their deliveries? It seems the answer is no.
