Not able to update any app on my late 2018 Mac Mini

On my late 2018 Mac Mini I have a problem that will not allow me to update or upgrade any apps. Error message “ Installation cannot proceed because installer is damaged” Redownload the installer and try again. I downloaded several times and the same error. I shutdown and powered up in Safe Mode but the same error when I tried to install upgrade. I used Disk Utility and ran first aid on MacIntosh HD and it did not find anything and said that it was “ successful. Shutdown again and each time used each of the 3 Recovery Utility versions with no solution. I was able to restore from Time Machine backup and was able to login but when I tried to install is or apps the same problem exists.

Which app?

Remove all 3rd party virus apps (Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, Intego, MacAfee, Norton, ESET NOD32, Trusteer etc) and 3rd party "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up" apps (CleanMyMac, MacKeeper etc). They produce only obscure errors and money loss. Don't use VPN services unless you're using it to tunnel into a secure private network such as your employer or school.

An EtreCheck report would eliminate much guesswork:

For Apollo, i would not go to sonoma yet…. Check with UA for compatibility (if it is comparible, it’s very recent… a few weeks ago it was not.

Not clear if you’re on Ventura yet and/or tried to update to sonoma?

Some DAW (like pro tools) are not yet fully compatible.

if you’re doing audio work, typical timeframe for fully compatible macOS latest version is between 8 to 12 months …
