Can't turn off Stolen Device Protection on iPhone

I turned on the Stolen Device Protection on my Iphone 13 Pro after updating it to iOS 17.3 and my home wasn’t recognized as a familiar location. Because of that now I can’t access my Apple ID. What is weird is that the Face ID & Passcode option on Settings just disappeared, which is where you go to turn SDP off. What should I do to turn SDP off?

I had turned on Stolen Device Protection a year ago and just realized I no longer had Face ID showing in Settings. I located advice in another forum and it fixed my problem. 🙏🏻

You have Restrictions enabled: If you or someone else with access to your device has enabled Restrictions, it may be preventing you from accessing the Face ID and Passcode options. To check if Restrictions are enabled, go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Restrictions are enabled, you will need to enter the passcode to access the options. You should then see the option to turn off Stolen Device Protection.

Hope this helps anyone with the same issue.

I’m having similar issue. It won’t recognize my Face ID but I not can’t access my passwords or anything and can’t turn it off as it doesn’t recognize my face. I’m at my literal home and it’s still not working. I went to Apple Store today and they said it would be fine once I got home and would be able to turn it off but I still can’t and can’t access passwords or other settings as it won’t recognize me! No one from Apple seems to be able to know what to do! I’m so frustrated as I just want to turn it off!

Yes, same problem iPhone SE 2nd gen, fingerprint not working, Stolen Device Protection turned on by default with iOS 17.3 update? Stuck in loop of ---- can't redo fingerprint when it requires the fingerprint to redo it!! Do I really have to drive my 88-year-old mother-in-law hours and hours on the road to the nearest Apple store?? This is ridiculous!

I am also having the same problem just a little different. My Face ID wont even try to work anymore. I can only use my passcode and when I try to unlock my phone it says “Face ID is disabled”. I try to reset my Face ID but Stolen Device Protection prevents me from doing so. I also can’t turn it off due to my Face ID not working because of Stolen Device Protection. It’s just really confusing and no solution and I’ve had this problem for 2 weeks.
