New Spotify update had creepy login issues

Has anyone had any recent issues involving Spotify’s latest update regarding logging in? I don’t stay logged in as I’m a privacy hound. New Spotify app update is trying to use website to log me in. Has strange redirects which make me uncomfortable and Apple constantly always warns or I should ask day reminded me about upon each login attempt.

Spotify says it’s part of their new update and unfixable, but it is a brand new issue on my end. Just happened after new install. Hope this can be fixed because they are useless help wise and I’m severely uncomfortable not being able to sign into the app normally with regular login credentials over being paranoid with strange redirects to their website through the app which is odd in itself. Any help would be appreciated if possible.

Again, Apple doesn't own the Spotify app, nor can they go into the code in the Spotify app and change anything Spotify has implemented. My statement above is all anyone here can offer. If they have as you say, created "creepy login issues" you need to take it up with Spotify. Apple has no control over their login system at all.

I wasn't offended. And welcome to the blame game. How funny that Spotify told you they had no control over how it works. They developed the app. App Apple provides them is the API (Application Protocol Interface) for the App to be able to be delivered through the App Store. But Apple has absolutely nothing to do with the code in the app, how one logs into the app, or really any control over the app in any way. If you went to Apple directly, they'd tell you to take the issues to Spotify.

Spotify has nothing to do with Apple. And Apple, nor anyone here is associated with Spotify. If you don't like their new login procedures, take that up with Spotify or don't use their service.

If you read the post (it’s long I’m aware), you would’ve seen I did bring it up with Spotify. Being it’s in Apple’s app store one never knows exactly who is in charge of what, although here I’ll freely admit I do not.

It’s a new occurrence and I’ve been a Spotify premium member for 3 years but good to know whomever you are. Still, the curiosities as to why will linger. Cheers.

All good. Just was a puzzling response as if you were offended by the post. I should’ve asked a regular question as in “did anyone else have strange issues with Spotify’s latest Apple app-store update regarding weird login redirects?” My bad.

Spotify blamed the app saying they had no control over how it works, so wasn’t sure who was in charge of what. Course, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It won’t happen again.

I forgot nobody reads this place that works for Apple. But good to know you’re well informed and can tell me. I was in a mood I guess when posting because of all the issues these contraptions have constantly regardless of whose updates. Have a good one. 🙏
