I wasn't sure what was non-constructive about my last post that it was removed but let me try again in a nicer way. Apple should add a feature in Maps that allows one to SAVE a route. I'm planning a cross-country drive and I wish there was a way to save one route so that I can compare it to alternative routes.

I didn't see anything after I posted a reply explaining that it wasn't possible and offering a workaround (albeit quite poor). If you complained about anything, then your post would likely be removed.
None of us here work for Apple. If there is a feature that you want that doesn't exist, all we can offer is alternatives. You will have to talk with Apple (as noted by leroydouglas) to get features implemented.
