Unsupported eSIM

Hi, Apple Support

Currently I use iPhone 14 Plus, Sim + eSIM version. It's network unlocked and any physical sim will work.

The issue is with eSIM installation - getting a pop up with the following error:

This eSIM is from a network provider that is not currently supported on this iPhone. To use this eSIM, contact your provider and request to unlock this iPhone

Here are some details from imei checker service:

Description: IPHONE 14 PLUS BLUE 256GB-ZDD
Model: IPHONE 14 PLUS,ROW,256GB,BLUE
Product Version: 17.3
SIM1 Carrier: MoldCell
MDM Lock: OFF
iCloud Lock: ON
iCloud Status: CLEAN
Replaced Device: NO
GSX Case History: 0 records
GSX Replacement History: 0 records
Coverage Status: Out Of Warranty (No Coverage)
Estimated Purchase Date: 2 November 2022
Sold To Name: TELEKOM DEUTSCHLAND GMBH
Purchase Country: Germany
Next Tether Policy: Unlock.
Sim-Lock: Unlocked

Tried to do network settings reset - no luck.

Why do I need to unlock it if it's marked as network unlocked in Settings -> General -> About

How can I use the eSIM functionality? - it's important because I need two phone numbers in the same device

Can we check the IMEI in private chat - is it network locked on Apple servers?

Thank you

Sincerely,

Stanislav

To be able to use any SIM across the globe you must have "No SIM Restriction" against Network Provider Lock. Please refer to the pic below.

Carrier Lock:- Request your iPhone’s original Carrier to unlock your iPhone and if they agree and do it, then you may know the further process here --> How to unlock your iPhone for use with a different carrier ...

To use two different providers, your iPhone must be unlocked. Otherwise, both plans must be from the same provider. If a CDMA network provides your first SIM, your second SIM won't support CDMA. Contact your network provider for more information.

If you have an enterprise or corporate data service plan, check with your company administrator to see if they support this feature.

Hi @SravanKrA

Thanks for quick response

I checked my settings and I see 'No SIM restrictions' there. Both IMEIs and EID are present there as well. So, both physical and eSIM from any provider should work.

Actually only physical sim works fine. Any SIM is accepted.

eSIM installation is blocked.

Looks weird for me. I'm going to do hard reset and check it out again.
