Apple Music is glitchy on iOS 17

I want to report letting you know that Apple Music is broken in iOs 17.3, in my case it stops playing unexpectedly when I am listening to songs, and if I hit play the music starts playing from the beginning, whether I download music or not; Apparently the music shutdown occurs randomly and it happens to me on both my iPhone 11 and my new iPhone 13.

I've already tried everything, from deleting and reinstalling the app, logging in and out with my Apple ID, to factory resets, but, unfortunately, the problem has persisted over, and over, again, and no one from support has been able to help me, I really need someone willing to look into this further until find the most efective solution

Searching on the internet, I already realized that there are indeed too many complaints regarding the malfunctioning of Apple Music on iOS 17, and there does not seem to be any effective solution to this terrible bug. Also the times that my music has stopped I have used headphones, either Earpods with a Lightning cable or Airpods, neither of them are defective, so it is already clear to me that it is an operating system glitch, I am very sad and disappointed because this has never happened to me with downloaded music.

When will Apple fix this matter? I don't know how far into iOS 17 we have to go to not suffer from these interruptions anymore, I want it to work completely stable and error-free, so I can enjoy my music as it should be, without interruptions or fear of them.

I feel you, I’been using Apple products since 2013 and my experience had been stable until now, I hate to deal with these random bugs and that no one from Apple Support is willing to help me.

I miss iOs 16.6 or so, I never had this type of bugs with Apple Music, iOs 17 is a nightmare when it comes about stability, I’m hating it

I’m having the exact same issue since upgrading phone to IP15 which came updated to IOS17. My AirPods always cut out when connected to the Apple Music App. Tried everything like yourself. Had the AirPods for only a year and had no problems with my old IP12. Sometimes can be seconds into use/ listening and it cuts out…close and re open the app and it works again for shock a few seconds later one AirPods cuts out again and then the other goes. I’ve only really experienced this with Apple Music not other apps effected….im hoping this is sorted soon!

I've been experiencing similar issues. But related to Apple Music on my Mac. Tonight I noticed that several songs in several of my playlists on my iMac Pro (2017) were greyed out. I was like, what dah...? As soon as I saw the songs greyed out, of course, I tried playing them, and they just would not play. I double-clicked, I clicked on the ... and looked for "Play" (didn't find it), I clicked on the song itself in the playlist and then clicked on the play button and nothing happens. Now, if I click on the ... for the playlist and choose "Play <name of playlist>" it starts playing from the first song in the playlist that is not greyed out. So it simply ignores the greyed out songs and plays the ones not greyed out. One could assume the issue might be that the song "is no longer available" in Apple music... Well, not so fast. Here's the thing: If I am already playing another song, and then I click on the ... next to any of the greyed out songs and choose the option "Play next", and click on the >> (next) button, the song will play! Also, I double-checked, and in iOS on my iPhone the playlist in question seems to be just fine! No greyouts, no issues. All songs play in the playlists, no skips, no problems. I'm dumbfounded, really. This is quite frustrating. 😤 Also, for the greyed out songs there is no "Download" option either! And no, they are not downloaded. They are in Apple's cloud, and I can verify that, since I can play them either using my iPhone or via the convoluted workaround I mentioned by using the "Play next" option. If anyone is wondering about the cloud icon, well, nothing. I mean, no icon on the column at all. No cloud symbol, dotted or otherwise, no arrow pointing down, no cloud slashed, nothing. The column is there, but no icon. I might need to consider alternatives to Apple Music...

Mine has had problems, not only with Apple Music but other apps too, since I upgraded to iOS 17 on my 3rd gen 1Pad Pro many months ago. With each new update, I hope the problems have been solved but … no. I’ve been an Apple user for 40 years and this is the worst OS problem I’ve ever experienced. And they won’t let us re-instal iOS 16.

It’s an Apple Music issue then, I haven’t had any problems with downloaded music, but with iOs 17 it stops randomly after half an hour or so, even in the middle of a song, and when I hit play the track that stopped starts again from the beginning, so unpleasant for that to happen.

I even reinstalled the app and downloaded that same playlist, but the problem keeps persisting no matter the troubleshooting steps I’ve tried, and nobody from Support is willing to help, so I feel you folks

It happened to me again and I wasen’t wearing any headphones, the music just cut out unexpectedly again, there isn’t any solution found so far, not even reinstalling the app or a factory reset helps, and this is pretty terrible.

Any plan to fix this terrible annoyance, Apple? I really hate to deal with these unstabilities, maybe we’ll have to wait until iOS 20 to get it up and running entirely stable again, what a shame

I’m seeing Similar issues here, plus, my music keeps cutting out randomly after 40 minutes, and this instability prevents me from using the service, I still remember how reliable and stable Apple Music was when I had iOS 16, no music interruptions what so ever.

I think this glitch is caused by the new Crossfade feature even if it’s turned off, but I’m just guessing
