Phone calls made within my home, the person on the other side CANNOT hear me.

When making calls or receiving calls within my home, the person on the other end of the call cannot hear me. I can go outside and then they can. There is something interfering with the voice side only inside my home. My internet provide "Comcast" will not help, only finger point. Verizon will not help, only finger point. Apple sends me a set of instructions that do not fix the problem.

I am strongly beleiving this is setting with the wifi calling being interferred with Comcast routing configuration, but cannot get them to troubleshoot this. I am clearly assuming this, only because on the same call when the person on the other end cannot hear me, all of a sudden can, once I step outside.

This finger pointing by three vendors is rediculous. Someone has be to compitent enough to figure this out. From one vendor or another. Collaboration has to exist as each has a stake in this.

Interesting post. The one thing in common inside your home, to all your devices, is the availability of the internet and therefore Wi-Fi calling. Does this happen with other iPhones that may be connected to your Wi-Fi network and using Wi-Fi calling?

Try setting Wi-Fi calling to OFF by opening Settings ➡️ Phone ➡️ Wi-Fi Calling ➡️ Wi-Fi Calling on this iPhone: Set this switch to OFF. Then Reboot your iPhone. See whether the issue persists.

  1. Understood.
  2. Yes, turn OFF Wi-Fi on your iPhone by going into Settings ➡️ Wi-Fi : Set this switch to OFF. Try making calls from inside your house and see whether both parties can hear each other.
  3. Those are Wi-Fi bands that are usually available in most households. For example, the Wi-Fi Network inside your home may have two networks. One with 5Ghz band and the other with 2.4Ghz. If you only have one Wi-Fi Network name for your household, then don’t worry about this point.
  4. If Point #2, above, does not work then leave Wi-Fi ON and Turn Bluetooth OFF by going into Settings ➡️ Bluetooth: Set this switch to OFF. Try making calls from inside your house and see whether both parties can hear each other.
  5. This one is a long shot, however, Turn Bluetooth and Wi-Fi ON on the iPhone and turn OFF the Apple Watch or remove it from your wrist. Try making calls again.
  6. One other thing to try and that is to Turn OFF and Reboot your Wi-Fi Router at your house and then try calling calling again after the Router has been on for 10 minutes.

Points #2 and #4 are crucial to determine whether the issue is with your Wi-Fi Network or your iPhone itself.

Questions:

  1. I know that you said that the other person cannot hear you. Can you hear the other person?
  2. What happens when you turn Wi-Fi OFF, on your iPhone, when you are inside your home? Does everything work normally when your iPhone is connected to cellular when it is still inside your home?
  3. Does it matter whether your iPhone is connected to 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi inside your iPhone?
  4. What about Bluetooth? What happens if you leave Wi-Fi ON, on your iPhone when inside your home, and turn Bluetooth completely OFF?
  5. Do you use an Apple Watch?
