Desktop folder missing from sidebar

My desktop folder is missing from my side bar. I have tried moving it to the side bar and also going to File>Add to sidebar and nothing works.

My Desktop is missing from Finder Sidebar. I don't know where it went. There was a folder containing desktop icons but I did not create it. I don't know how it got there. I thought I could just move the icons onto the blank screen I was looking at but I didn't realize that what I was seeing wasn't the actual 'desktop'. That's when I noticed it was missing in the Finder Sidebar. How do I restore it?

Desktop keeps disappearing from sidebar This is a constant annoyance. I keep having the Desktop folder disappear from the sidebar in Finder and the file dialogue. I have added it in Finder preferences and by dragging the folder to the sidebar. But after a few days it's gone. The presences have been changed to show the folder is not selected, but I know nobody changed it. I am the only person who uses this computer. How do I get the Desktop folder to stay in the sidebar?

folders show desktop itens Any folder on the desktop, when opened,shows up the entire desktop folders,including the one I openend. How to fix it?
