removing previous owner's association with my airpods pro 2

hi, I bought a used airpods pro 2 from amazon

first when I connected them, they said they are x's airpods

  1. I figured a factory reset solution (lid open, hold button till it light goes amber).
    1. now it automatically took my name
    2. let me add it to find my devices etc
  2. however, when I go to find my app it shows me the first image attached
  3. on icloud it shows me second image attached. Why does it not give me options like erase etc

two questions

  1. how to solve first image
    1. i have ofcourse done all the things mentioned in those links yet they are still there
    2. I don't think it's a mixup. Airpods printed serial number for case, L, R are matching the ones in Bluetooth settings
  2. If I change name of airpods, will previous owner see the name. Thinking of changing name to [urgent] please remove device

If the devices showed the previous owners name when you got them, they were not properly reset by the owner. You should return them.

There is not much you are going to be able to do with them. Changing the name of the AirPods will not alert the owner. It's a big risk purchasing used devices online. You never know if they are Locked to the Owner or even counterfeit. If there is no way to contact the seller or return, you would be stuck with them.
